Skin treatment comes before makeup here, and it is a proper stage rather than a single tap.

Each of the three celebrities starts with a bare face and visible flaws, and you work through a facial treatment, blackhead removal included, before a brush is picked up. Then the makeup layer, then hair, clothes, jewellery and accessories. Three characters, three full runs, and the styles are written into them: one is a music diva in grunge, one is a Hollywood star doing college looks, one arrives with a collection of masks.

Calling it DIY is the joke of the premise. The question it poses is whether celebrities do their own faces, and the answer it gives is that it takes three stages.
