Puffer Jacket Divas

A puffer jacket is the most aggressive garment in any winter wardrobe. It is wide, it is shiny, and it removes the waist entirely.

Which means the outfit is decided by what it leaves visible: the legs below it, whatever shows at the neck, the shoes, and the hair. Everything else is inside the jacket and will not be seen. Build a beautiful outfit underneath and you have wasted it; build for what shows and the whole thing works.

The one lever that changes the most is the length. A cropped puffer keeps the waist and behaves like a normal jacket. A long one is the silhouette, full stop.
