Summer Picnic Date

A picnic date has a practical constraint that a restaurant date does not: you are going to be sitting on grass.

That removes a surprising amount of the usual date wardrobe. Anything that only works standing up, anything that will not survive being sat on, anything pale. What is left is softer, more relaxed and easier to look natural in, which is arguably better for a first date anyway.

The picnic itself gets arranged too, so the palette runs through both halves. Matching the blanket to the outfit is a small thing that makes the whole scene look composed.
