Rattan is woven rather than cut, which is why bags made from it come in a handful of fixed shapes and take their character from trim.

The game follows that logic. You pick the model and the colour, then decorate the bag itself, and only once it is finished do you choose the outfit to go with it. Designing the accessory before the clothes is a reversal, and it works, because the bag ends up the loudest thing in the picture and everything else has to defer to it.

Keep the outfit simple. A summer dress in one colour will beat a busy print next to woven straw every time.
