Six princesses, two invitations, and the same woman has to work in both.

The cocktail party wants modern: a short dress, one strong accessory, hair that looks like it took ten minutes. The royal ball wants the full apparatus, gown, gloves, tiara, the lot. The game asks you to dress each of the six for both, and the interesting part is keeping them recognisable across the two. A princess who looks like a different person in her ball gown than in her cocktail dress is one you styled twice rather than styling once.

That constraint is what lifts it above the usual princess dress up games. There are six characters to get wrong and two chances each.

Expect to go back and revise the first princess once you have finished the sixth.

How to play Princesses Now And Then

Do all six modern looks first, then all six ball gowns. Working one princess at a time makes them drift apart. Give each princess one thing that carries across both outfits, a colour or an accessory. That is what makes her a character rather than a mannequin. Tiaras last, and not on all six.
